Yograj Singh - Yuvraj's Father |
Yograj Singh (born 25 March, 1958, Chandigarh) was an Indian cricketer who played one Test and six ODIs for India as a fast-medium bowler.
He started working in movies in 1980 and has appeared in about 150 films. He is best known as a villain for his performance in “Badla Jatti Da”. He has two sons, one of whom is the current Indian cricketer, the left-handed batsman Yuvraj Singh.
In 2004 Singh was sentenced to six months in jail for "negligent and rash driving" in respect of an accident in 2000 in Chandigarh in which a scooter rider was seriously injured. Yograj was one of the accused in Jessica Lal murder case, when this celebrity bar-tender was shot inside a crowded south Delhi restaurant. Yograj helped the main accused to flee, and later helped him to disappear for a few days.
